St. Martholomew’s and the Royal London hospital merged withi Queen Mary and Westfield in 1993.  Bart’s is situated within the Square Mile of the city of Lonon in an attractive courtyard setting.  “The London” is in the Whitechapel, a pretty deprived area of London with many Asian and Muslim immigrants.  The hospitals therefore span the full breadth of social classes.  Hospitals in Hackney (the Homerton), Whipp’s Cross, Newham and Southend in Essex are also used, as are a number of specialist units, including the London Chest (Bonner Road, London E2).

A well organized package in subjects from ITU to cardiothoracic surger is available.  Dental electives are also possible.  There is no elective fee, and you should apply 6-18 months before your intended date.  A list of sources of accomodation is provided.
