Maybe it's because I did an undergrad in engineering, but I find medicine totally different from undergrad. In a lot of ways it's intellectually easier, but more intense because of the amount of work. Especially if you procrastinate until 2 weeks before exams like I do....

Actually, some times I feel like medical school is a lot easier than undergrad. Maybe it's because I'm finally learning something that's relavant. All throughout high school and uni I've always wondered why we had to learn a certain concept or subject when I knew I wasn't going to be using it in the future.

As far as friends go, I have about 10 friends from class that I can actually call them friends. We're all friendly towards each other, but I'm sure at the end of the day there are a handful of people that annoy the shit out of you. It's nice to share this experience with people who are going through the exact same thing as you; it makes it fun.. even when we're dead tired.

I felt the same way in first year, but by second year I had somehow become used to the uncertainty and heavy workload. I have faith that you will too. First year medical school is a rude awakening, but somewhere in second year it starts to dawn on you that it's almost half done, and that clerkship is faaaast approaching and things get a bit easier. Not a lot easier, but a bit. I also found that by second year I had some really solid friendships with classmates and that really helped. I hope it only gest easier for you...

i'm guessing that isn't actually SBB in that pic, although its exactly what i imagined a SBB would look like, your eyes kinda never reach the top of the head lol. Nah it aint top secret, i'm going to 'HYMS' in the UK (Hull/York med school), practically all pbl taught, so alot less running around looking for references used by lecturers and more get off your butt and find your own you lazy twit, which suits me fine.
